Wanted: Senior Exploration Geologist  - major iron ore project, Pilbara, Western Australia Perth based with travel to site on a campaign basis Senior role with autonomy and variety Dynamic, growing organisation Our client is an iron ore development and mining company with key assets in the Pilbara region of WA and is now seeking the appointment of a Senior Exploration Geologist.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist you will be expected to manage all exploration activities .  You will be expected to travel to the Pilbara as required to oversee and assist with activities including mapping, drilling and rockchip sampling at our channel iron deposit tenements.  Key responsibilities of this role include:  Managing exploration activities Execution of exploration plans Supervision and Mentoring of junior geologists and field assistants Ensuring team on site meets appropriate safety requirements Identification of ground for exploration activity Design exploration and resource definition programs Geological mapping and prospecting Supervision and control of drilling programs and field mapping Oversee and assisting with logging drill hole and grab samples Assist in review of new projects Supervision of geophysical and geochemical surveys Data evaluation Production of technical reports for the company The successful candidate will have the following: Recognised tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline Professional experience within the mining industry in a similar role Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills Familiar with MapInfo or ArcGIS Current driver’s license with 4WD experience Legal entitlement to work in Australia on a permanent basis Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite Current Senior First Aid certificate (desirable) Our client  is seeking a dynamic professional person who has the ability to work independently and in a team context and preferably has some experience in managing a team.  The candidate should have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, a strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills.  This role will require flexibility dependent on exploration program activities.     An attractive salary is offered for this position commensurate with qualifications and experience.
