Guidelines for Planning Authorities on Section 261A of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 and related provisions.
The Guidelines provide an overview of a number of changes to legislative provisions in relation to quarries and guidance on the implementation of the new provisions. These provisions are contained chiefly in the Planning and Development (Amendment) Act 2010 and the Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2011, relevant sections of which were commenced on 15 November 2011.
These Guidelines are issued by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to planning authorities and An Bord Pleanála (the Board) pursuant to section 28 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended.
