John Francis elected President The Irish Mining & Quarrying Society 2018

The Irish Mining & Quarrying Society has elected John Francis as its President at the Society’s AGM held in Dublin on 20th February 2018. Mike Lowther has been elected Vice-President.

 

John Francis, a graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology – Bolton St, has over 25 years’ experience in the plant industry at various levels and currently occupies the role of Customer Account Manager at Finning Ireland, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. John is responsible for managing key accounts in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in both the mining and quarrying sectors.

 

Speaking at the AGM, John said “As we enter the 60th year of the Society it is an honour and a privilege to be elected to the position of President of the Irish Mining & Quarrying Society and I look forward to representing the best interests of our industry. I would like to congratulate Brendan on his very successful term as President, he took up the role with superb energy and a willingness to get things done and achieved so much during his term as president, I look forward to working with all of the members of council during the coming year.”

 

Former President, Brendan Morris (Managing Director, LTMS Limited), stated: “I am very pleased to note the election of John Francis as President of the IMQS. John’s significant experience and knowledge in the quarry and mining equipment sector and his experience as a Council member will bring great value to the Society, during his period of leadership. The IMQS and our members will benefit from John’s desire to promote the industry and to expand the society.
